Red Sea transit times stabilize after Q2 disruption
Aug 6, 2026
Ocean carriers report transit times through the Red Sea corridor returning to pre-disruption levels as security conditions improve.
Major container lines have begun scaling back the extended Cape of Good Hope routing that added 10-14 days to Asia-Europe transits since late last year.
Freight rates on the affected lanes have eased accordingly, though several carriers say they'll maintain contingency routing capacity through the rest of the year.
